One reason the 49ers had just three quarterback pressures on Sunday: Michael Penix Jr. attempted only four passes beyond 10 yards.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy struggled to connect with wide receivers in Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, completing his first pass to a wideout in the third quarter. Purdy's first completed throw to a receiver was an 8:53 third-quarter connection to Jordan Watkins. He finished with a season-low 75.8 passer rating as San Francisco committed four turnovers in the loss.
Running back Christian McCaffrey exited early with a mild hamstring strain, though coach Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism about his return after the bye week. Tight end George Kittle led the team with eight receptions for 88 yards but lost his third career fumble during the final drive.
