The 49ers' Deommodore Lenoir welcomes the challenge of facing Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba, but DC Raheem Morris explains why he won't shadow him.

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir expressed respect and readiness ahead of facing Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba in Sunday's Week 5 matchup. Smith-Njigba entered the game in strong form after compiling 481 receiving yards and six touchdowns across the first four games of the 2026 season.
49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris explained that Lenoir will not exclusively shadow Smith-Njigba across the field. Morris cited Seattle's pre-snap motion and versatile formations, noting that San Francisco will rely on its collective defensive scheme while acknowledging the two players will still clash frequently.
