As the 49ers suffer through some kicking struggles, Gould is suddenly available.

Former San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould has resigned as the head football coach at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois. According to a statement from school President Ryan Aiello, the 43-year-old stepped down to spend more time with his family. Over two seasons at St. Viator, Gould's teams struggled to a combined 3-15 record.
Gould's departure comes as current 49ers kicker Eddie Piñeiro experiences significant struggles, missing three extra points and three field goals across six weeks. Gould spent six seasons with San Francisco, finishing his tenure as one of the franchise's most accurate kickers and converting all 40 of his postseason kicks.
