Is there such a thing as firer’s remorse? The Falcons must be having some second thoughts as Raheem Morris returns to town with a red-hot 49ers defense.
San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris faces his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, nine months after being dismissed as their head coach. With the undefeated 49ers sitting at 6-0 and dealing with significant offensive injuries, the California Post highlights that Morris' defensive unit is central to maintaining the team's strong start against Atlanta, who are currently 2-4 under Kevin Stefanski.
Despite losing key defensive linemen early in the season, Morris has led a revamped defense that ranks fourth in points allowed per game and fifth in yards allowed. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed strong praise for Morris' impact and schematic adjustments, while Morris indicated he is entirely content serving as a coordinator in San Francisco.
