The 49ers could pursue a trade for Colts DT DeForest Buckner, according to Adam Schefter, potentially reuniting San Francisco with its former first-round pick.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter reports that the San Francisco 49ers could pursue Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner ahead of the NFL trade deadline. A trade would reunite Buckner with the team that originally drafted him seventh overall in 2016, as San Francisco looks to add depth to an injury-depleted defensive line.
Speculation of a potential trade increased following the firing of Colts general manager Chris Ballard and recent frustrated remarks from Buckner. Additionally, 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk publicly advocated for a reunion on social media, urging Buckner to return to San Francisco.
