San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan praised defensive coordinator Raheem Morris for his aggressive coaching style during an appearance on "49ers Game Plan" with Matt Maiocco. Shanahan explained that Morris's aggressive approach has elevated the defense by encouraging tighter coverage and allowing the team to blitz more frequently, shifting away from their past "bend but don't break" tendencies.
Shanahan noted that while former coordinator Robert Saleh operated an effective scheme with four-down fronts, Morris mixes front looks and demands aggressive play from contributors like linebackers Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw. The undefeated 49ers continue to adapt successfully to the scheme as they prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks.
