Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald addressed Drew Lock's elbow injury after naming him the team's starting quarterback for Week 9.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald addressed Drew Lock's elbow injury as the team prepares him to start at quarterback in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals. Lock is stepping in for regular starter Sam Darnold, who was ruled out after suffering a quad injury against the Chicago Bears. Macdonald confirmed the team is managing Lock's throwing workload through the week to prepare him for Sunday.
Lock has dealt with the elbow issue for the past two weeks, during which he served as the team's third quarterback. Lock and third-string quarterback Jalen Milroe are set to split first-team practice repetitions, and Macdonald did not rule out signing another signal-caller if needed.
