Washington Commanders defensive lineman Johnny Newton practiced in full for a second consecutive day on Thursday as he works to return from injured reserve. Newton's 21-day practice window was opened the previous week after recovering from a preseason pectoral injury. His potential return comes as the Commanders face defensive line shortages with Daron Payne out for the season and Javon Kinlaw also on injured reserve.
Elsewhere on the injury report, wide receiver Treylon Burks missed his second straight practice due to a foot injury. Wide receiver Dyami Brown was a new addition as a limited participant with a calf issue, joining John Bates, Sam Cosmi, and Shy Tuttle, while Stefon Diggs returned after a rest day.
