Injuries to Ryan Poehling and Cutter Gauthier haunt Anaheim as a depleted roster struggles with defensive zone coverage and depth scoring against a hungry Calgary squad.

The Anaheim Ducks fell 4-2 to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night at Honda Center. Playing without injured forwards Ryan Poehling and Cutter Gauthier, Anaheim struggled with defensive zone coverage and lacked secondary scoring against a previously winless Calgary squad. Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf made 22 saves on 24 shots, while Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal stopped 32 of 35 attempts in the loss.
Patrick Present of The Hockey News praised Beckett Sennecke as Anaheim's standout performer, while noting Leo Carlsson scored a power-play goal. Top prospect Roger McQueen logged 11:26 of ice time in his NHL debut, and defenseman Drew Helleson also returned from injury. Head coach Joel Quenneville noted that reshuffled line combinations and missed defensive lanes contributed to Anaheim leaving points on the table.
