The Boston Bruins officially announced on Sunday that right wing David Pastrnak has been named the 28th captain in franchise history. The 30-year-old takes over the leadership role following a vacancy created when former captain Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers in March 2025.
Pastrnak is a 12-year NHL veteran and four-time All-Star who led the Bruins last season with 100 points, tallying 29 goals and 71 assists. He previously tied Alexander Ovechkin for the NHL goal-scoring lead during the 2019-20 season with 48 goals.
