The Bruins make a new Jeremy Swayman goaltending decision ahead of their Ducks matchup, with Michael DiPietro projected to start for Boston.

The Boston Bruins have decided to rest starting goaltender Jeremy Swayman and start backup Michael DiPietro for Friday's road matchup against the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. DiPietro gets his second start of the campaign after previously stopping 26 of 29 shots in an October 3 loss to the Minnesota Wild. Swayman, who made 35 saves in Tuesday's 6-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks, is expected to return to the net on Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings.
Head coach Marco Sturm opted to split the goaltending duties across the weekend back-to-back set on the road. Boston enters the game at 5-2-0 and looks to extend a three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, DiPietro remains in pursuit of his first career NHL victory as the Bruins face an Anaheim Ducks squad dealing with injuries to Ryan Poehling and Mikael Granlund.
