Bruins get a dose of reality with one prediction for the 2026-27 season

Bleacher Report analyst Sara Civian projected a difficult 2026-27 season for the Boston Bruins, predicting they may struggle to match or improve upon their previous first-round playoff exit. The Bruins were eliminated by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring before making roster changes under general manager Don Sweeney.

Boston acquired forward JJ Peterka from the Utah Mammoth in exchange for two first-round draft picks as their primary offseason move. Civian noted that despite the presence of David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, Jeremy Swayman, and head coach Marco Sturm, the roster faces depth issues that were previously masked by career years from Pavel Zacha and Morgan Geekie.
