The Story in 60 Seconds

The Boston Bruins continue their preseason schedule on the road against the Philadelphia Flyers after opening with consecutive home victories. Boston previously secured a 3-2 shootout win over the Washington Capitals and a 5-1 win over Philadelphia. Due to new CBA restrictions limiting players with over 100 NHL games to two preseason contests, this matchup marks the final preseason appearance for Charlie McAvoy, Henri Jokiharju, Jordan Harris, Brendan Gaunce, Sean Kuraly, and Mikey Eyssimont.

Head coach Marco Sturm confirmed that forward Matt Poitras is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, while defenseman Mason Lohrei is also absent from the roster. Billy Sweezey returns from an early-camp upper-body injury to make his preseason debut alongside Frederic Brunet, while Michael DiPietro and Jiri Patera serve as the designated goaltenders.
