The Boston Bruins have placed forward Mikey Eyssimont on waivers on Sunday afternoon. If the 30-year-old forward clears waivers on Monday, he is scheduled to report to the Providence Bruins in the AHL. Eyssimont made the NHL roster out of training camp but did not dress in any of Boston's first three regular-season games.
Eyssimont is in the final season of a two-year contract carrying a $1,450,000 cap hit. The roster move comes as forward Matt Poitras approaches a return from a lower-body injury, requiring Boston to open a roster spot.
