After being embarrassed in their games against the Utah Mammoth, the Chicago Blackhawks brought some heart on Saturday. Sadly their heart and swagger wasn’t enough to secure a victory against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Buffalo Sabres overcame a deficit to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 on Saturday, leaving Chicago with an 0-3-0 start to the season. Chicago established an early lead with goals from Ryan Donato and Tyler Bertuzzi before Jack Quinn and Tage Thompson leveled the game for Buffalo. Oliver Moore restored Chicago's advantage on a setup from Anton Frondell, but third-period goals from Rasmus Dahlin and Jiri Kulich secured the win for the Sabres.
The defeat marked Chicago's first 0-3-0 start since the 2020-21 campaign. Defensemen Kevin Korchinski and Ethan Del Mastro made their season debuts for the Blackhawks, while Sam Rinzel was a healthy scratch and Bowen Byram missed the matchup due to a personal matter.
