The Calgary Flames earned their first victory of the season by defeating the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 on October 13 at the Honda Center. The win snapped a five-game skid where Calgary had been outscored 27-8, despite the team holding decent underlying metrics, including a 55.0 Corsi For Percentage.
According to Field Level Media, the victory extended two remarkable streaks: Calgary has won 11 of its last 13 visits to Anaheim and has won 58 consecutive games when scoring four or more goals. Writer Todd Matthews notes that young players must continue to step up offensively to sustain momentum.
