The Calgary Flames announced that forward Sam Honzek is considered week-to-week due to a lower-body injury. Head coach Ryan Huska confirmed that Honzek sustained the injury during Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche, in which he logged a season-high 15:53 of ice time. The announcement came on Monday ahead of Calgary departing for a two-game western road trip.
Honzek missed multiple practice sessions following Thursday's contest and remains on the active roster rather than injured reserve. Head coach Huska noted the team will miss the young forward's speed during his absence as they prepare to face the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.
