Samuel Honzek has been a key piece of the Calgary Flames top-nine this season, but now Ryan Huska has revealed the extent of his latest injury.

Calgary Flames head coach Ryan Huska announced that forward Samuel Honzek is officially considered week-to-week due to an injury. The 21-year-old forward sustained the issue after appearing in four games during the 2026/27 season, subsequently missing the Flames' 4-2 defeat against the Anaheim Ducks. Huska noted he hopes the recovery falls on the shorter end of the week-to-week timeline.
Honzek has recorded two goals and four points across 27 career NHL appearances. The former first-round selection also experienced an injury-shortened 2025/26 campaign after playing 18 games. Despite the recurring physical setbacks, the Flames remain patient regarding his development into a full-time, two-way defensive forward.
