The Calgary Flames have recalled forward Ben Jones from the AHL's Calgary Wranglers, according to a team announcement. The transaction follows the Flames placing Samuel Honzek on injured reserve, while team captain Mikael Backlund is currently day-to-day due to an upper-body injury suffered against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Jones has tallied seven goals and two assists in seven games for the Wranglers this season. Although he skated as the top-line center in practice, his status for Thursday's game against the Minnesota Wild remains dependent on Backlund's availability.
