This 4-3 overtime loss for the Montreal Canadiens was the result of a series of bad decisions, and the last one will haunt the player who needed a win most.

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes committed a critical interference penalty in overtime, leading directly to a 4-3 loss against the San Jose Sharks. Just 20 seconds after Dobes interfered with Collin Graf, Macklin Celebrini scored the game-winning power-play goal. The Canadiens had previously held a 3-1 lead in the third period before defensive mistakes and penalties allowed the Sharks to tie the contest and force overtime.
Sportsnet's Eric Engels highlights that Dobes entered the game struggling with confidence after several poor outings and fan pressure favoring Jacob Fowler. Head coach Martin St. Louis noted after the game that his team must manage leads better, pointing out that Dobes is working too hard and overcompensating instead of allowing the game to come to him.
