Is it too early to be talking about awards? Probably, but the Canes are playing really well right now, and there are a few players who deserve the recognition.

Cardiac Cane writer Ben Huffman highlights Sebastian Aho, Pyotr Kochetkov, and Jackson Blake as early Hart Trophy candidates for the Carolina Hurricanes. While noting that a Hurricanes player has never won the award, Huffman argues their strong October performances merit recognition amidst the team's fast start to the season.
Huffman ranks Aho as Carolina's top candidate after recording 19 points in 15 games. Goaltender Kochetkov earned the second spot by opening the season with a perfect 9-0-0 record, while forward Blake placed third after generating 12 assists and 15 points.
