Elliotte Friedman reported that the reigning Hart Trophy winner won't re-sign in Tampa, and a potential move has Eric Tulsky and Carolina written all over it.

Tampa Bay Lightning star winger Nikita Kucherov has reportedly told the team he will not re-sign and has requested a trade, according to reporter Elliotte Friedman. The 33-year-old reigning Hart Trophy winner is in the final year of his contract and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July 2027. He holds a 10-team trade list governing where he can be dealt.
Writer Ben Huffman of Cardiac Cane argues that Carolina Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky should pursue a trade for Kucherov. Huffman notes Carolina possesses the necessary cap flexibility, draft picks, and young assets like Seth Jarvis, Logan Stankoven, or Jackson Blake to potentially facilitate a high-profile deal.
