The Carolina Hurricanes will raise their championship banner and open the 2026-27 NHL regular season against the Florida Panthers at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, and will be broadcast on ESPN.
Carolina enters the contest with most of its championship roster intact, minus Frederik Andersen and Alexander Nikishin. Meanwhile, the Panthers return key healthy players Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk, while also featuring new additions Brady Tkachuk and goaltender Jacob Markstrom.
