After surviving a sluggish start and critical injuries, the Hurricanes rallied behind Pyotr Kochetkov’s goaltending and top-end scoring to secure a resilient divisional victory over Washington.

The Carolina Hurricanes earned their sixth consecutive victory by defeating the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Tuesday night at Lenovo Center. Andrei Svechnikov led the offense with two goals and an assist, while goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov turned aside 20 shots to secure the comeback win.
Following the game, head coach Rod Brind'Amour and several players discussed overcoming a sluggish start and battling through injuries. Mark Jankowski scored into an empty net to extend his goal streak to five games, stepping up amid the absence of Jordan Staal and an in-game injury to Taylor Hall.
