NHL Rumors: Simon Edvinsson, Dylan Larkin, and Alexander Nikishin

According to insider Dave Pagnotta on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, both Simon Edvinsson and Alexander Nikishin reportedly prefer trade options away from their respective clubs. Detroit Red Wings executive Shawn Horcoff and Carolina Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky are evaluating scenarios as contract talks stall. Detroit is increasingly listening to trade offers for Edvinsson, while also evaluating player packages for Dylan Larkin amid strong early-season performances.

Detroit continues to weigh immediate roster help against futures-based packages to maximize return value. Meanwhile, Carolina is looking to maximize its return on blue-liner Nikishin, which has fueled speculation that the Hurricanes could leverage the resulting assets in a future pursuit of goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.
