The center picks up his first NHL hat trick the natural way as the Hurricanes scored seven times to earn their first home win of the season against the Canucks.

Logan Stankoven recorded his first career NHL hat trick as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vancouver Canucks 7-2 at the Lenovo Center. Stankoven scored at even strength, short-handed, and on the power play to also secure his 100th career NHL point in Carolina's first home victory of the season.
Andrei Svechnikov scored twice in the opening period, while K'Andre Miller and Mark Jankowski also added goals for the Hurricanes. Sean Walker contributed four assists, and goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov earned the win in net, while Jake DeBrusk scored both goals for the Canucks.
