Blackhawks Place Landon Slaggert, Dominic Toninato On Waivers

The Chicago Blackhawks placed forwards Landon Slaggert and Dominic Toninato on waivers on Sunday for the purpose of assigning them to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs. Earlier in the day, the club also loaned Dillon Boucher and Drew Commesso to Rockford as roster cuts continued ahead of the regular season.

With Slaggert and Toninato placed on waivers, Chicago's NHL forward group was reduced to 14 players. The move potentially creates roster flexibility for defensemen Kevin Korchinski and Ethan Del Mastro, while Slaggert had been competing with Jordan Greenway, Teuvo Teravainen, and Andrew Mangiapane for roster spots.
