Deen’s Daily: Lifeless Avs Performance; McKenna Beats Stenberg; Prospects Showing Well

The Colorado Avalanche are looking to bounce back against the New Jersey Devils following a 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Writer Aarif Deen characterized Colorado's recent showing against Philadelphia as a lifeless performance, though he highlighted encouraging starts from three Avalanche prospects in their respective leagues. Matvei Michkov stood out as the primary star for Philadelphia during the Flyers' victory over Colorado.

Elsewhere around the NHL, Toronto Maple Leafs forward and number one draft pick Gavin McKenna scored the game-winner against number two pick Ivar Stenberg and the San Jose Sharks. The Penguins fell just short in a comeback attempt against the Utah Mammoth, while former Detroit Red Wings star Igor Larionov is out as a head coach in the KHL.
