Blue Jackets Forward Miles Wood Clears Waivers

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Miles Wood has cleared waivers after being placed on the wire by general manager Don Waddell. The veteran forward is now eligible to be assigned to the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League. Wood must now decide whether to report to the AHL or face potential team discipline for failure to report.

Wood is entering the fourth year of a six-year, $15 million contract carrying an annual cap hit of $2.5 million. Last season, he recorded 14 points across 54 games for Columbus after arriving in a trade from the Colorado Avalanche, bringing his career total to 196 points in 567 NHL contests.
