Offense will come at a premium for the Blue Jackets this year, which is exactly why they need to get Conor Garland going.

Curtis Deem of Union and Blue argues that the Columbus Blue Jackets urgently need winger Conor Garland to revitalize his offensive production. Acquired from the Vancouver Canucks before the previous trade deadline, Garland scored four goals in his first three games with Columbus but managed only one goal and three points over the final 18 games of the season.
Deem highlights that Garland is currently skating on the fourth line under head coach Rick Bowness despite carrying a $6 million annual cap hit. Across 23 career games with Columbus, Garland has posted five goals and seven points while seeing his underlying play-driving metrics drop.
