The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Michael Bunting to a one-year contract worth $1.2 million, according to NHL insider Darren Dreger. The move follows a slow offensive start for Philadelphia, which managed only five goals across its first four games of the season under head coach Rick Tocchet.
Bunting, 31, remained unsigned as a free agent through the summer before agreeing to the deal with Flyers general manager Daniel Briere. Across 74 games split between the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars last season, Bunting recorded 14 goals and 33 points.
