It won’t be easy for the Canadiens to replace Ivan Demidov. His exceptional playmaking and crucial presence on the power play surely will be missed for the next two to four weeks.

Montreal Canadiens winger Ivan Demidov is slated to miss up to four weeks with a lower-body injury, ruling him out of Tuesday's home opener against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 20-year-old forward could miss as many as 12 games after opting for treatment and rest rather than practicing on Monday.
Head coach Martin St. Louis stated that the injury will test team depth but expressed confidence in Montreal's lineup balance. Demidov's absence will lead to changes on the power play, with Chris Kreider joining the top unit, while Kirby Dach moves into the top six alongside Alex Newhook and Juraj Slafkovsky.
