Detroit Red Wings Place A Forward & Defenseman on Waivers

The Detroit Red Wings have placed forward Wilmer Skoog and defenseman Ronnie Attard on waivers with the intention of assigning them to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. The transaction follows Detroit's 7-4 preseason victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins, while six players previously placed on waivers cleared and are also bound for Grand Rapids.

Skoog registered a goal and an assist in Detroit's recent preseason game after tallying 37 points with Charlotte in the AHL last season. Attard, who did not feature in either of Detroit's preseason contests, spent the previous campaign with Colorado in the AHL, producing 17 points across 44 games.
