Zetterberg's number has been officially retired by his SHL team. Could the Red Wings be next?

Former Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg was honored by his former Swedish Hockey League club, Timra IK, with a jersey retirement ceremony on October 17. The recognition celebrates the international and club legacy of the Triple Gold Club member, who was previously inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2023.
Writer Katy Glaza argues that Zetterberg has not yet received deserved recognition in North America, expressing hope that the Detroit Red Wings and Hockey Hall of Fame follow suit. Across 1,082 NHL games from 2002 to 2018, Zetterberg recorded 960 regular-season points and 120 playoff points, winning the Stanley Cup with Detroit.
