Michal Postava is the first homegrown Red Wings goalie to be a winner in his first NHL start since Petr Mrazek in 2013.

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Michal Postava won his first career NHL start on the road against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. Postava stopped all three shootout attempts he faced, including a shot from McDavid, to secure the victory. Head coach Todd McLellan praised the young goaltender's athleticism and anticipation after the game.
Postava became only the fifth homegrown goalie since 1990 to win his first NHL start for Detroit, and the first to accomplish the feat since Petr Mrazek in February 2013. The Red Wings signed Postava as an undrafted free agent in the summer of 2025.
