McDavid, 29, will have more points in his first 800 games than anybody other than Gretzky and Mario Lemieux

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is set to play in his 800th career NHL game against the Los Angeles Kings. At 29 years old, McDavid entered the contest with 1,233 career points, giving him the third-highest total through 800 games in league history.
Only Wayne Gretzky with 1,892 points and Mario Lemieux with 1,580 points scored more through their first 800 appearances. Former NHL forward Craig MacTavish highlighted McDavid's unique speed and skill while questioning if he could eventually reach the 2,000-point career plateau.
