Who is Devon Levi? Why are the Edmonton Oilers starting this rookie goaltender against the Vancouver Canucks?

The Edmonton Oilers announced that 24-year-old goaltender Devon Levi will make his first start of the season against the Vancouver Canucks. Levi receives the start following a difficult opening-game performance by goaltender Tristan Jarry, giving Edmonton an opportunity to evaluate the young netminder under early-season pressure.
Edmonton acquired Levi from the Buffalo Sabres during the summer in exchange for a third-round draft pick. Levi enters the matchup with 39 games of previous NHL experience and is currently playing in the final season of a two-year, $1.63 million contract.
