High school girls’ volleyball: Tuesday’s Southern Section playoff scores, schedule

The CIF Southern Section girls' volleyball playoffs continued Tuesday with pivotal pool play and quarterfinal action across multiple divisions. In Division 1 pool play, top-seeded Mater Dei defeated Santa Margarita in straight sets (25-17, 25-22, 25-19), while Sierra Canyon swept Los Alamitos (25-14, 25-13, 25-14). Oaks Christian and Mira Costa also earned sweeps in their respective pool-play matchups against Harvard-Westlake and Marymount.

In Division 2 quarterfinal matches, Redondo Union held off Newport Harbor in a five-set thriller, San Juan Hills swept Corona Centennial, and Long Beach Poly defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in three sets. Wednesday's schedule will feature quarterfinal matchups in Divisions 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11, leading toward semifinal action scheduled for Saturday, October 31.
