The superstar winger matched Ovechkin’s rare goal-scoring feat and carried Minnesota to the top of the Central Division, positioning himself just one point shy of a major milestone.

Minnesota Wild superstar winger Kirill Kaprizov was named the NHL's Second Star of the month for October following a historic opening month. Kaprizov led the NHL with 14 goals and added 10 assists across 15 games, guiding Minnesota to a 9-3-3 record and first place in the Central Division. Connor McDavid earned First Star honors, while Pyotr Kochetkov was named the Third Star.
Kaprizov's 14 goals matched his own franchise record for goals in a single calendar month and made him the first NHL player to score 14 October goals since Alex Ovechkin in 2009. Kaprizov sits at 499 career points, just one point away from becoming the second player in franchise history to reach 500 points.
