While Quinn Hughes isn't in a rush to sign an extension, the Minnesota Wild should be in a rush to trade for Dylan Larkin so he signs.

Gone Puck Wild's Chris Schad argues that the Minnesota Wild must urgently complete a trade for Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin to convince defenseman Quinn Hughes to sign a contract extension. Hughes is in the final year of his contract and in no rush to sign, amid speculation that he is waiting to see if Minnesota acquires his former Michigan teammate.
Schad suggests the urgency increased after the New Jersey Devils acquired Connor Hellebuyck, potentially paving the way for Hughes to join his brothers Jack and Luke Hughes in free agency next summer. Securing Larkin could persuade Hughes to commit to Minnesota over competing suitors.
