Five power-play goals against and a frozen man-advantage have derailed Minnesota’s road trip, forcing star playmakers to the bench while undisciplined penalties sink the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild suffered their second consecutive loss to open a five-game road trip, falling 2-1 to the Calgary Flames on Thursday. Minnesota's special teams faltered significantly once again, allowing two power-play goals while going 0-for-4 on their own man-advantage opportunities. This defeat dropped the Wild's record to 6-3-2 on the season.
Across their past two games, the Wild have conceded five power-play goals on nine chances and gone 0-for-7 on the power play. Despite outshooting Calgary 37-22, early penalties created a 2-0 deficit Minnesota could not overcome. The team will look to correct these struggles Saturday against the Seattle Kraken.
