Montreal Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle is set to make his season debut against the Detroit Red Wings. The 24-year-old missed the team's first four games of the campaign while recovering from off-season adductor muscle surgery. Guhle enters the lineup as the Canadiens look to snap a three-game losing streak.
Montreal will dress 11 forwards and seven defensemen because forward Florian Xhekaj is sidelined with an undisclosed injury alongside injured forwards Ivan Demidov and Oliver Kapanen. Additionally, goaltender Jacob Fowler will make his second consecutive start after stopping 15 of 18 shots in a recent loss to the Nashville Predators.
