Lane and Cole Hutson faced each other for the first time in the NHL, and both brothers wasted no time showing off their offensive abilities.

Brothers Lane and Cole Hutson faced each other for the first time in their NHL careers as the Washington Capitals secured a 5-4 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night. Both defensemen made significant offensive contributions, becoming only the second pair of defenseman brothers in NHL history to each register a point in their first head-to-head meeting.
Cole set up a Jordan Kyrou goal for Washington, while Lane scored a goal and added an assist for Montreal in 24:14 of ice time. Although Lane won the individual scoring battle, Cole secured bragging rights with the win, marking the beginning of their professional rivalry as Eastern Conference opponents.
