Devils’ Seamus Casey Leaves Game With Injury, Will Miss Time

New Jersey Devils defenseman Seamus Casey suffered an injury during the second period of Thursday's preseason game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Following the Devils' 4-3 shootout loss, head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that the 22-year-old defenseman collided with an opposing player and will miss time pending further medical evaluation.

Prior to leaving the contest, Casey recorded an assist on a Stefan Noesen power-play goal. The setback comes as Casey enters the final year of his entry-level contract, with New Jersey scheduled to conclude exhibition play against the New York Islanders on Saturday before starting the regular season on October 1.
