Matyas Melovsky proving in preseason that he will be a capable NHLer

New Jersey Devils forward Matyas Melovsky has demonstrated strong performances during the 2026 NHL preseason. Selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the center has shown potential to develop into a full-time NHL contributor. Melovsky recently featured in preseason action against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Prior to the current preseason, Melovsky recorded 83 points in 57 QMJHL games before transitioning to the AHL in 2025-26. In his rookie professional campaign with the Utica Comets, he registered 10 goals and 26 points in 55 games while demonstrating effective forechecking and physical play.
