Alex Ovechkin announced that the 2026-27 NHL season will be his last, prompting a look at the New Jersey Devils' upcoming schedule against him. The Devils will face Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals four times during the regular season, with all matchups scheduled before February. The final regular-season contest between the division rivals is set for Sunday, January 24, at Prudential Center in Newark.
The four-game regular-season series begins on Saturday, October 17, at Capital One Arena in Washington. The teams will then play a home-and-home set on November 12 and 14 before their final January meeting. Over his 22-year career, Ovechkin has recorded 44 goals and 92 points across 82 games against New Jersey.
