The New York Islanders host the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night at UBS Arena riding a three-game point streak. Despite recent success, head coach Pete DeBoer must manage a depleted lineup following injuries sustained in a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Matias Maccelli is sidelined for two to four weeks with a lower-body injury, while Calum Ritchie faces a four-to-six-week absence with a similar ailment.
Mitchell Chaffee and Kyle MacLean are expected to make their season debuts alongside Casey Cizikas to replenish the forward group. The Islanders rely heavily on strong defense, allowing only 17 goals in eight games with goaltender Ilya Sorokin slated to start. Meanwhile, Anaheim enters the contest on a three-game losing streak after falling 5-2 to the New York Rangers.
