Justin Geraci of Eyes On Isles writes that the New York Islanders still have unresolved tension with Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen ahead of Sunday's matchup. Last season, Rantanen was ejected for a hit from behind on Alexander Romanov, prompting former head coach Patrick Roy to shout heated remarks as Rantanen departed the ice.
Neither Roy nor Romanov will participate in Sunday's game, as Romanov is sidelined for six to eight months with a torn ACL. Despite their absences, the writer argues the contest offers the Islanders an opportunity to prove they cannot be pushed around following a 3–2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
