Reporter sounds alarm on NY Islanders attendance as fans send a troubling message…

Longtime New York Islanders reporter Arthur Staple has highlighted a noticeable drop in home attendance at UBS Arena early in the season. Through the team's first eight home games, average attendance fell roughly 8% from last season's 16,439 to 15,097, with a recent game against the Carolina Hurricanes drawing only 14,234 fans.
Speaking on the Tri-State Hockey Podcast, Staple argued that the organization is to blame for failing to give supporters a compelling reason to invest emotionally. He contended that relying solely on stars Matthew Schaefer and Ilya Sorokin is insufficient without a clear organizational direction or roster transformation.
