Longtime AHL beat reporter Patrick Williams shares what he believes is key to Dylan Garand’s success with the New York Rangers.

Goaltender Dylan Garand has excelled for the New York Rangers, earning praise from AHL reporter Patrick Williams for his mental toughness and mature mindset. Williams told Forever Blueshirts that Garand possesses a mature, confident mentality that has enabled him to quickly seize the starting opportunity following Igor Shesterkin's season-ending knee injury on October 9.
Garand holds a 6-2-2 record through 10 career NHL games with a 1.77 goals-against average. After clearing waivers following training camp and an injury to offseason trade acquisition Joonas Korpisalo, Garand stepped in as the primary netminder, posting a top-10 league ranking in GAA and save percentage.
